Just home from the Panama, where we enjoyed you on the Amsterdam. Yesterday we saw a local production of "The Sound of Music" so I have Eidelwiess playing as I type this. My husbank and I can't decide which we loved more, your music or your stories - all in all your programs were the very best memory of this wonderful trip. Thank you.

My wife and I enjoyed your playing and talks on the HAL Statnedam (Japan, Korea, China). Your insider talks on artists were very lively and enjoyable. It was a winning format for your shows. 4,16,08

Justin:
We caught both your concerts and your great lectures on American music in context like I have never heard it before. You have a book on history of American music in you like few people I have had the pleasure of witnessing. Again, as I told you peronally, I REALLY appreciated the due attention and praise you paid my favorite lyracist, Johnny Mercer! SKYLARK lives!

February 4, 2008

Mr. Miller,
I was on the Noordam cruise, Jan. 5, 2008, and had the honor of attending each of your sessions. I was astounded at just how beautiful your playing was but maybe even more astounded and surprised at the wealth of knowledge and experience that you showered on us in the audience. You told the stories with such enthusiasm! Yours were far and away the best of any sessions/shows I have been to in my 6 cruises. Thank you very much. Best wishes, Bill Kitchin, Loyola College, Baltimore, MD 2/4/2008

Just heard your fabulous playing and stories on the Noordam. You are a wealth of information, and a real musical treasure. Being involved in musical theater, and a classically trained pianist, I especially enjoyed Jesu Joy of Man's Desiring and the stories behind the songs. Hope we have the pleasure of hearing you again in the future.

Robert Johnson

Saw your show on the Noordam Cruise. You are the best guitarist I have ever heard, and I have heard and your info regarding composers was great.

I went to all your performances on the Noordam last week and enjoyed every minute. You are truly a gifted musician, historian and story teller. We spoke briefly after your first performance and I mentioned two of my favorite guitarists are Roy Clark and Duane Eddy. You referenced being fmailiar with Duane's music through the Shadows. I enjoy the Shadows music but I haven't found anyone that could truly reproduce Duane's unique sound and interpretations. He is truly one of a kind. One of my other favorites is Al Caiola who I believe is not only a great guitar player but also a very talented producer. I hope to be fortunate enough to catch you on a future cruise. Keep doing what you're doing, it is appreciated by your audience more than you'll ever know. Thank you for the music and the education and enlightenment.

March 24, 2007

I was fortunate to hear you play and tell stories three times on my recent vacation aboard the Ryndam. I enjoyed your performance as much as any concert I have attended, maybe even moreso because of your wonderful stories. I hope to hear much more from you in the future.

Carrie Dujela

March 22, 2007

I am the lady who approached you after your stunning performance,to but your CDs, as I had to take them back to let the teachers at the music school I own hear them. The department of guitar (7 teachers), thought that they were examples of some of the finest performing that they had ever heard, and the mixture of styles performed were seldom, if ever heard performed so well by one artist, as it takes years to perfect each of the examples that you performed. If you are coming anywhere near Victoria, B.C., we have 469 guitar students who would be in ecstasy to hear such a technically superb performer (never mind the rest of the school)!! Thankyou for spreading the love(and history) of the music in such an entertaining way with your comedic mix. As a music teacher and performer all of my life, all I can say is BRAVO!!! I cannot understand why you have not gotten a contract with a large record company with such performance talent. Carrie Dujela, principal, Brentwood School of Music

Tessa & Henry Goldsmith

March 18, 2007

January 28, 2007

We (my wife and I and my parents) just completed a wonderfuul 10 day ms Noordam cruise (Jan. 17 - 27). The ship is fantastic, we had a fabulous crew, and enjoyed fine cuisine. The ports of call were lovely, and we all "survived" a wild gale storm with 18 foot seas. The entire cruise will be etched in our memories forever, and the highlight memory will be the beautiful times spent with Dr. Justin Miller. From the "official evening performance" through the two bonus afternoon "solo guitar and stories" sessions, and then finishing with the final morning tribute to J.S. Bach, George M. Cohan, and Louis Armstrong, we all thoroughly enjoyed Justin's truly incredible guitar skills, his wonderful knowledge of history, and insightful recollections of great musicians and songwriters.
Justin, you filled our minds with wonder, brought joy to our hearts, and caused our eyes to water with happiness. THANK YOU very much !!!
May the seas ahead be calm, and may the future audiences be as lucky as we all were. Shalom.

January 28, 2007

Hi Justin,
I was on the Noordam last week, and you were the highlight of the cruise. We met after your 1st show I am the head shaved guy who also plays guitar. I was very impressed with your knowledge of popular music and your playing. I hope to see you again, maybe you can let me know when you'll be in NY.
Thanks for making my cruise more enjoyable,

January 28, 2007

Dear Mr. Miller, Noordam, Cruise-All I can say is nothing less than a phenomenal performer. The time and effort, not only in the reasearch, but I cannot imagine the hours of practice you have devoted, myself being a wanna-be guitar player. Also as we were purchasing your cd's for our son, Jason, and the pressing crowd behind us, you still took time to talk and answer questions. I would probably book another cruise with HAL where you were performing. Thank you. Art and Linda.

January 27, 2007

Dear Dr. Miller,

You were great and I have not stopped thinking and talking about you and your performances aboard the Noordam this week. I loved all your music, stories and left every performance wiping the tears from my eyes. The sign of a true artist is when he can make you cry - and I don't mean in sadness, I mean that in beauty. When you are moved to tears, you have experienced true art! When they can make you cry - then you know have heard and seen the very best. Thank you for entertaining so well. Sincerely, Phyllis Caputo in New York.

December 3, 2006

While on a Carribean cruise with my 80 year old father-in-law, we took a chance on Dr. miller's performance on the Veendam. Not a musician myself, and my father-in-law, who played steel quitar on radio before television, when Dr. Miller said he would have an "impromptu" show discussing the tales behind the music/artist, my father-in-law, although living with hypoglcemia, and usually in bed by 9 PM, "i don't care if his show is at Midnight, we will be there!"

Anxiously awaiting the CD's we've ordered, and your next release.

We returned today from our Caribbean sailing and want to thank you for enriching our experience through your music and tales.

We just returned home from the Thanksgiving cruise on the Veendam and we can't stop talking about how much we enjoyed your performances and talks! We were so disappointed at first that we couldn't go to Grand Cayman because of the weather, but your interesting and informative talks made up for it! As a music teacher I also enjoy sharing stories with my students about the history of songs and composers. Thank you for all the great information I can pass along to my students. I plan on ordering your CD asap!

Dr. Miller, Yong and I returned home yesterday from our cruise on board the ms Veendam. What a wonderful time we had and it was especially memorable because we had the opportunity to not only listen to your wonderful performance, but got to chat with you for a while when we bought your CDs. November 11, 2006

Dr. Miller: We just returned home tonight from sailing on the Veendam Nov 4 - Nov 11, 2006. Your concert was both informative and entertaining! Your gift of music was AWESOME. Your obvious love of music and history was an inspiration. "Shorty" was a darling....please let us know if he grows any larger. I could not help but cheer when you called his name. I am 5'2" short, myself! The first time I met my-mother-in-law and saw that she was shorter than me, I asked could I please call her "Shorty" ....so that is an affectionate name I have called her for 41 years! We are so glad that we arrived early in Rueben's and found a front row seat! Hopefully we will see and hear you perform again.
